These concrete statues of seals began to show up in the early 1960s, sitting regally at entranceways, on decks, and in front lawns throughout New Zealand. Sixty years on, these examples of classic outdoor Kiwiana are quickly becoming extinct.
Simon Stockley is an eclectic artist based in Auckland who works in a variety of mediums. Currently, he’s producing a series of digital prints as well as continuing his 25-year passion for computer-generated art.
