Korsteel Cambridge Mouth Sliding Cheek Weymouth Bit Set
The Korsteel Cambridge Mouth Sliding Cheek Weymouth has a relatively mild curb action due to the movement in the sliding cheeks, which work in the same way as a gag bit, such as a three ring dutch gag. The sliding also allows the horse to move the moutpiece up and down with their tongue, and the low port of the Cambridge Mouth allows more room for the tongue than a conventional mullen mouth Weymouth. The Weymouth acts on the corners of the mouth, tongue, bars, chin groove and poll, which makes it a relatively strong bit.
The loose ring bradoon is used in conjunction with the Weymouth to create a double bridle bit. The bradoon acts to lift the horse's head, whereas the weymouths acts to lower the head.
