Residing between Wellington and Taupo, on State Highway One lies the Artistic shrine of Mangaweka. Look for the brightly painted 'Yellow Church' building on your right heading north (and left heading south!). Park outside and stroll up to the double blue doors of the former Presbyterian Church, that since 2006 has been the studio of Resident Artist Richard Aslett and from 2007 the home of the two yearly 'Fakes & Forgeries' exhibitions (happening THIS year 2023, see mangawekagallery@webs.com). Inside you will find Paintings, Photography, Ceramics, Wood-Turning, Gift Cards, Antiques & Collectables and much much More! Open Weekends, most other days and by appointment. Always on the lookout for emerging Artists, feel free to contact Richard with samples of your work and you could be the next exhibiting Artist at this iconic gallery!
