Skin-2-Love was born out of a thirst for knowledge and a desire to act against pollution and waste. As many of you have done, I wanted to know how skincare was made. The purple unicorn, adored by many, understood by few! A few years ago, I was standing in my local Chemist warehouse, looking for a moisturiser as I had run out the night before. At this point, I was unemployed (Thanks Covid), and price really was important, however, as someone who applies a moisturiser at least twice a day I did not have an option NOT to get it. I bought the cheapest facial moisturiser I could find ($7 on special) but it was watery and underwhelming, and I felt the difference on my skin immediately. So started my journey…. Why would one product be luxurious while another is not, why do some break the bank and others do not?
I found that:
Moisturisers (and for that matter skincare) contained the same or very similar ingredients.
Ingredient lists are complicated to understand, and if you don’t understand the function and interaction of each ingredient you remain in the dark. It’s like having a recipe for cake without knowing what quantities to use of each ingredient.
Packaging often costs more than the ingredients for the skincare. Yes, you read that right.
I decided that instead of talking about doing something, to start doing something. Skin-2-Love was born. Re-make what’s on the inside and re-use the outside – no compromise on effectiveness or luxuriousness – simple as that.
Do you want to know the best part? It’s EASY and FUN!!!
